At Sir Henry Fermor School we have a strong tradition of choral singing, as can be heard in the worships that take place at least 4 times a week. Every worship usually starts with a hymn selected from our vast repertoire of songs celebrating the school's Christian faith. The hymns are either traditional ones that the staff remember singing as children to newer ones to reflect the wide range of hymns available. All in all, a blend of old and new. The children certainly sing the hymns with enthusiasm and confidence. They are usually accompanied on the piano by Mr Novkovic or Miss Burton, but sometimes we have them accompanied by a small band, consisting of a keyboard, guitar and drums.
We are also lucky to have a strong connection with All Saints, Crowborough, who support our choral singing, particularly on a Wednesday morning. when the singing worships are led by Cathy from the church. At these sessions, we go over some of our most popular hymns or learn a selection of new ones, in preparation for seasonal events such as Harvest, Remembrance, Christmas and Easter.
