Home Learning for week beginning 21st February 2022

Our home learning activities will be a bit different this term.  Instead of having a grid of activities to complete throughout the term we will be setting specific activities each week in addition to our usual spellings and times tables focus.  As always, there will be the opportunity to gain additional house points for home learning completed so please keep your eyes peeled for the home learning tasks.

For this week, our focus is on spellings, times tables and the take home task that was set over the half term break.  Also, please don't forget to spend some time reading for pleasure - we're looking forward to the "Great House Group Bookworm Challenge" which started today (Monday 21st February) so please start filling in your table with details of the books you read this week!  Of course, you could also email in some photos of yourself reading in weird and original places - remember, you've got until the 28th February to send in your photos and there will be some prizes available!

Here are the spelling words for this week which all end in -cious. They will be tested on Friday (25th February).

  • conscious
  • vicious
  • precious
  • delicious
  • malicious
  • suspicious
  • spacious
  • gracious
  • ferocious
  • luscious

If your child has been asked to learn their spellings from the list of high frequency words, their spellings for this week are as follows.  These will also be tested on Friday (25th February).

  • something
  • important
  • enough
  • watch
  • example
  • sometimes
  • which

Times Tables

Your child will be aware of the times table they should concentrate on learning this week.  If they are not sure, please ask them to check the board in their classroom.

These will be tested during our maths lesson on Wednesday.

Take Home Task

Continuing on from the half term holiday, you might like to spend a little time  making an Anglo Saxon shield, details of the task are on the document below.
