Friday 20th March 2020

Dear parents and carers, we really appreciate that teaching your children from home is going to be demanding and challenging time, but hopefully a fun and rewarding time for you as families.

Please make the most of the resources that we have sent you, please don’t make this a stressful experience for yourselves and your children. Do not feel you have to complete all that we send you as this is tailored for a wide range of children.

You will have received a home learning sheet and resources for the next 2 weeks. After this your Home Learning tasks and activities will be sent through weekly on a Friday.

Please do make the most of this website as we will be posting a weekly round-up, and keeping in contact with the children.

Decide how and when you want to do the home learning, make it work for yourselves and HAVE FUN!

Here is a summary of this week’s work.

This week the children have written some wonderful stories base on the Michael Morpurgo book ‘The Gentle Giant’.

This week in Maths we continued to learn about weights and measures, focusing on grams and kilogrammes. The children loved eating their biscuits made from the ingredients which they had weighed.

We hope you enjoy seeing your child’s art work on Mothering Sunday!

Fabulous labels and recipes were created this week for a healthy vegetable soup.

In RE our new topic is Understanding what Christians believe about Salvation. We are now in the period of Lent, which leads up to Easter when we remember the death and resurrection of Jesus. This week we learnt about Maundy Thursday and the links and symbolism of the foods eaten at Passover.

All of us in the Year 3 Team will miss your fantastic children. Keep well and best wishes from us all.
