Welcome to our learning for today. Please work your way through the videos and resources on this page. Remember, you can record your learning in your green home learning book.
Remember to take brain breaks and time for lunch at the appropriate points during the day. Don't forget to stay well hydrated too!
REGISTER ON MICROSOFT TEAMS
Once you have received your login and password via email from the school office, please log on to the Year 5 Microsoft Teams page and come and say hello to the teacher monitoring it. This 'Teams' thing is a first for all of us; how exciting!
In school we start the day learning our times tables, please spend ten minutes practicing your times tables. This week the focus is the 6 x table. Use The Daily 10 to check your progress.
Go and have a snack and a drink and a break from using your brains! You may want to get some fresh air too!
READING FOR PLEASURE
Read your own book for 15 minutes. You could either read to yourself, or you could read out loud to your adult. Write down any words that you don't understand in your green book, look up their meaning in a dictionary and write the meaning down in your green book too. Try to use the word in a sentence and then....HEY PRESTO... you have learnt some new vocabulary. Woohoo!
Take a good break now and have something healthy to eat and some water to drink in order to refuel your body. Fresh air is great for you too, maybe you could go outside for a bit and get some exercise?
Please follow the instructions in this video to access your guided reading for today.
This afternoon, log on to the BBC touch type programme "Dance mat" Spend fifteen minutes or so practicing your touch typing. Start with level 1, do this every day until you are really confident with the letters across the middle row of a standard keyboard. After that, go to Scratch and hit the "Start Creating" button. This week follow the tutorial to "Animate a name".
Please watch the following video before completing the worksheet.
When you have finished working through the video and are happy with today's French vocabulary, please move on to the worksheet below.
Copy the words on this sheet into your book (you don’t need to print it), then draw lines to match the French words with their English meanings. You will find the answers on page 2 (but don't look at them before you've had a go at the activity yourself).
You might also like to have a go at some online French games to check and grow your knowledge.
Visit the Language Angels website and use your login to access the pupil games for the unit "Au cafe (at the café)". You could also play some of the games from the unit "Quel temps fait-il? (The Weather)" to refresh your learning from last term.
Every week, Mrs Birkby will provide you with some activities to do outside of the curriculum. They could be anything from a quiz, a word-search, something to make or bake. This will give you the chance to be creative and really take in the world around you.
Anything that needs an answer, will be posted up on next week's FUN CORNER.
Have agreat week.
