A little history
Educational provision at Sir Henry Fermor School began over 250 years ago, when Sir Henry left instructions in his will for a school to be built for the children of the area. They were to learn the ‘3 Rs’ and receive instruction in the beliefs of the Church of England.
Today we are a two-form entry primary school, aiming to provide a rich and varied education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice, so that our children are competent, confident, compassionate and able to face the world with faith and courage. God is central to all aspects of school life and it is our intention to ‘Please God in all we do’.
We hope that you will find this website helpful and informative and that it will give you a taste of what life is like for children, staff and parents at Sir Henry Fermor School.
We know that to provide a successful education for your children, involves partnership at every level. At Sir Henry Fermor we seek to work closely with parents, to ensure that every child receives a rounded education that encourages a love of learning, prepares them for the future and enables them to fulfil their potential.
Our Christian faith is at the heart of our school. It inspires us to foster in children a love for each other, a respect for our environment and a desire to lay firm Christian foundations from which they can grow and flourish.
