Reading Stars
To start off the day, print off the attached sheet or keep a journal or any type of record of all the different places you read over the next week. Keep it safe so we can share next Thursday.
For this activity, can you use any materials you have at home and make a book character. You can spend as long as you like and need on this. Please keep it safe so you can bring it into school on Thursday 11th March as this is a competition and a book token will be given for the winning entry in the year group! How cool is that!
Design your own book token! Click on the picture that will take you to the website for full instructions on how to enter and a template/ entry sheet.
Although at Sir Henry Fermor, we will be celebrating World Book Day on the 11th March when everyone has returned to school, it is the official World Book Day today. For Guided Reading, we would like you to choose one of your favourite books that you have read during lockdown and create a new front cover for this book and write a blurb. Thank you

The Ning Nang Nong by Spike Milligan
Performed by Mrs. Koch
Betty Botter by Carolyn Wells
“Betty Botter” Lyrics
Betty Botter bought some butter
But she said the butter’s bitter,
“If I put it in my batter
It will make my batter bitter,
But a bit of better butter
Will make my batter better.”
So she bought some better butter
Better than the bitter butter,
And she put it in her batter
And her batter was not bitter,
So ’twas better Betty Botter
Bought a bit of better butter
Performed by Mr Novkovic
The Book or the Film?
This is an argument that will go on and on and on and on and on. I love both! And this afternoon, after all the book talk and reading, you can choose to watch the film or TV show of your chosen Fermor Book Day Book. As you're watching, maybe you'd like to make mental notes on what is different, which one do you prefer and why. Most of all, relax and enjoy the adaptation of your book.
