This term our topic is called ‘Reach for the Stars’. We are learning about ‘famous firsts’ focussing on the first person on the moon and the first people to reach the North Pole and the South Pole. Our ‘Stunning Start’ for this topic included learning the Reach for the Stars dance and designing our own stars and rocket to be displayed in our classrooms. Our ‘Marvellous Middle’ we will be watching a clip of the first man on the moon! Our ‘Fabulous Finish’ for this topic we will have a dress up day where we can come in dressed as who we want to be when we grow up! More details of this will follow nearer the time.
Next term our topic will be called ‘Our Wonderful World. We will learn about Australasia and Africa and this will include an exciting trip to Drusilla’s to see all the animals there and learn a bit about African culture.
Year 1 are lucky enough to be doing Forest School this term every Friday with Miss Greenwood. This helps teach us about working as a team and exploring nature.
