In Year 4, we aim to make each day an enjoyable learning experience, offering opportunities to reinforce and extend the learning and develop a growth mind-set. We aim for every child to have a positive attitude to school and go home full of enthusiasm about what they have learnt that day.
We strongly believe that every child counts and will strive to ensure that everyone feels supported.
Term 2, will bring a visit to the British Museum in London to enrich our learning about ‘Ancient Egypt’ for our topic this term. Further visits will be planned throughout the year, which will include: a visit to the Science Museum to study 'living things' and sound, a Saxon day workshop to look forward to which links to our Geography about ‘Settlements’.
On a Friday afternoon, the two classes split the session to swim in our very own indoor pool. For one term during the school year, the children have Forest School in the school grounds where they get involved in such things as den building as well as having to come up with enterprises for how they might sell it! Collecting sticks to make camp fires is also an essential part if they want to drink soup and eat toasted marshmallows!
