At Sir Henry Fermor CE Primary School we know how important it is for you to choose the right school for your child. We welcome visits and we look forward to welcoming you at any time to enable you to see teaching and learning - and experience the atmosphere of our school on a normal day. To book a visit to the school, please contact the school office on 01892 652405/ office@fermorschool.org.uk and an appointment for a tour with our Headteacher - Mrs Edwards, or our Deputy Headteacher - Miss Decker. 

Even after the Reception Year admissions deadline, you are very welcome to visit our school and we can guide you through making a late application.  

Tour of the School:

We offer a tour of the school every Tuesday from 11.00am.  If you would like to attend a tour please email the office and we will book a place for you. If you cannot make this time, please contact the office to book a time more convenient for you. 

Admissions for Early Years 2023-2024:

If your child is due to start school in September 2024, we would love to share a snapshot of the Sir Henry Fermor Primary School experience.

Unfortunately all of our Open Mornings/Evenings have now passed.  We do, however, run weekly tours of the school at 11am every Tuesday.

Parents should apply online for a place in Reception year at eastsussex.gov.uk/educationandlearning/schools/admissions/apply/ before the closing date.

For in-year places, you can apply directly to our school. We will then notify East Sussex Local Authority on your behalf.

The Supplementary Form

In addition to the LA’s Application Form, applicants for places at Sir Henry Fermor School should complete a Supplementary Form. This is available below and should be returned to the school’s Admissions Officer. In the event that there are more than 60 first preference applications for places in Reception at Sir Henry Fermor School, the applications will be ranked according to the oversubscription criteria set out below using the information given in the Supplementary Form.

Appeals

If you have not been offered a place at Sir Henry Fermor School, the law entitles you to appeal against the decision to an Independent Appeal Panel. This panel is completely independent of the school and Local Authority. Appeals are now being held remotely via video link. The school will make suitable arrangements for any appellants without access to the necessary technology.

If you wish to appeal, please notify the Tenax Schools Trust (which is the Admissions Authority for the school) via enquiries@tenaxschoolstrust.co.uk and further details will be provided.
