Your child will have had a note in their contact book informing you which spelling group they are in: Tulips, Marigolds, Buttercups or Sunflowers.
The children will continue in the same group unless they have been informed otherwise. The most effective way of learning these spellings is to repeat the activity at least 3 times during the week and that is why the spellings are on a grid with 3 blank columns.
Please practise each of these words during each session. The best strategy which we teach at school is to look at the word, say it aloud, cover it up, write it from memory and check that it is correct. If they do not spell it correctly the first time, don't worry but help them to understand the error and how to put it right next time.
New spellings will be published every Friday (starting Friday 22nd September) and tested the following Friday.
