Day 1

Welcome to day one of our Year2 unscheduled home learning page. If you are reading this, it means that we cannot complete our learning at school today. However, we have put together below a range of learning resources and activities for you to complete at home.

Any work you complete electronically (including any photos of your work) please ask your adult to send to us on one email to our dedicated Year 2 email address:

year2@fermorschool.org.uk

You can also complete your work on paper and bring it to school when you return.

Don’t forget as it’s a snow day please enjoy yourself outside. We’d love to see some photos of you especially if you manage to make a snowman!

Spelling

Today is an excellent opportunity to practise those year 2 common exception words. Remember as with your usual weekly spelling it is best to practise by writing them out three times.

Maths

Today would be an excellent opportunity to recap our money unit.  Can we remember to identify all our coins and notes.  How do we add the coins and notes together?  How many different ways could you make £18.37.  Also please complete the attached sheet and bring it into school when you return or email year 2.

English

Don’t forget to write in your neatest handwriting!

Afternoon options

Science

Can you investigate how long it takes to melt a snowball?  Make at least 3 snowballs of roughly equal size. Now place them in different parts of your home. (Maybe on a windowsill, the bathroom or the fridge). Can you estimate how long they will take to melt. Now create a table to record your estimations and your findings.

Art

Using your own choice of materials create your own snow scene inspired by this week's weather. We will put your art work towards Fermor's artist of the month for next month.
