At Sir Henry Fermor we believe that it is important for our children to explore friendships, develop interdependence and benefit from being in the fresh air. In addition to this, experience shows us that some children thrive through a combination of these times of free play and guided activities. It is for this reason that we have dedicated play areas on the playground, supervised by staff; these include a trim trail, tree climbing, hoops, balls, colouring, connect four and skipping.
For children wanting to take part in an adult guided lunchtime club, we currently offer the following:
In addition, we offer a Quiet Club for the duration of lunch time for any child who is finding the playground a little overwhelming. This is a quiet space to play a game with a few other children, have a chat with a teacher or just engage in something they like doing quietly .
