Welcome to our Home Learning page! Each week, Home Learning is set on a Friday and should be returned the following Friday (unless otherwise specified - longer projects may be asked to be completed over a number of weeks). Each week there will be spellings, times tables, work for a core subject and sometimes a foundation subject as well.
We are having a major focus on times tables as the The National Times Table Test is coming up SOON!
The Multiplication Tables Check (MTC) is a key stage 2 assessment to be taken by pupils at the end of year 4 (in the week of June 17 - 21). The MTC’s purpose is to ensure the times tables knowledge is at the expected level and is statutory for primary schools.
The Multiplication Times Tables Check is an online test where the pupils are asked 25 questions on times tables 2 to 12. For every question, you have 6 seconds to answer, and in between the questions, there is a 3-second rest. Questions about the 6, 7, 8, 9, and 12 times table come up more often.
A good way to prepare is to build a daily routine practising the times tables. We suggest practising 10 to 15 minutes a day for optimal results and to gain confidence.
The link below will take you to a test page where the children can rehearse the test and the questions.
This week we are learning about biographies and autobiographies and next week the children are writing their autobiography. Please could you go through the proforma questions below with your child so they have some facts to use next week. Copies of photos to stick on our final version would be brilliant too.
All the children will have their spellings stuck in their contact books on a Friday for the week ahead.

Reading and Times Tables
Please remember to make reading and Times Tables practice a priority. The children will find Maths so much simpler if they have a solid knowledge of their times tables.
Reading should be recorded at least 3 times a week in your child's Reading Record. Please encourage your child to use Times Tables Rock Stars https://play.ttrockstars.com/ and Timestables.co.uk https://www.timestables.co.uk/multiplication-tables-check/ to improve their times tables recall.
The statutory test will take place between the 17 - 21 June 2024.
