Children learn in different ways and not every strategy to learn spellings will suit all.

Term 1 Week 2 Spellings
Term 6 Weeks 6 - 7 Spellings
We are not setting any group spellings for the final weeks of term but instead we are going to give the children their own individual lists to work on of words that have been challenging them or statutory Year 3 words.
Therefore on Monday they will come home with a list of their own words to work on and we will administer the test during week 7.
Please continue to support them with the learning of these words and thank you for the children's commitment to learning spellings throughout the year. If they would like to work on some further spellings in preparation for Year 4 please click on the list below:

Spelling games for half term
Well done to all of you for your hard work learning spellings this term. There are many of you who are improving your accuracy. To prepare for our year 3 quizzes we would like you to continue to improve by playing some of the games below. Start with the Year 2 words that you are still wobbly on, then try the Year 3/4 list.

This week there will not be spellings set for each group to be tested as usual.
Instead we will be sending home individual spelling lists on Monday containing words that they have spelt incorrectly during the term.
We would like them to learn them carefully and the testis are likely to be immediately after the Easter break.

Your child should be aware which spelling group they are in as we have already grouped them in some spelling lessons this week. Please speak to your child's teacher if they aren't sure. You will see that two groups have the same words, this is not a mistake but we might change this over the next few weeks.
Week beginning 15th September
Spelling lessons will begin next week after assessments have been completed and we will let your child know which group they are in.
During this week, it would be helpful if you reinforced the year 2 common exception word spellings as below:
