Day 5 - Friday

No photos today as it was a busy day of travel and homecoming!

The children packed up their things quickly and we set off in good time. 

Unfortunately the traffic wasn't as clear on the way home as it had been on Monday so our journey back took a while. However, the children remained in good spirits and were kept fed and watered, so the day went well.

All children were safely delivered back to school to their waiting parents and carers.

The end of a wonderful week - thank you so much everyone!

Day 4 - Thursday

We woke up to another bright, hot day ready for our final activities. Over the course of the week each of the children have now had the opportunity to take part in every activity from the walk on the moors to high ropes, archery, raft building and the low adventure.

We finished off the week with a no-fire campfire (due to the current heat in the area), but we still had fun with campfire songs and eating marshmallows.

We're hopeful for a quiet journey home tomorrow as the children are tired after a fulfilling week.

Day 3 - Wednesday

Another hot day and the children absolutely loved the activities. All children took part in Archery and Low Adventure sessions so there was a mixture of some activity in the shade of the woodlands and some in a more open field (with amazing countryside views and a welcome wooden shelter for a bit of shade).

We were very impressed by the way many of the children worked together to accomplish challenges on the low adventure course and honed their own skills in the art of Archery.

This evening we laughed together as the children danced to the delights of "Baby Shark" and the "Macarena" before finishing the day with free time on the field.

Lots of tired children (and leaders) so hoping for a good night's sleep before more adventure tomorrow. 

Day 2 - Tuesday

What an amazing first day of activities! The weather has been fantastic and the activities have been brilliant, it's been so wonderful to see the children stepping out of their comfort zones, cheering one another on and encouraging each other.

At the end of the day we came together to reflect on the day and it was great to hear the overwhelming opinion that everyone had had a great time.

Day 1 - Monday

After a smooth journey in a very comfortable coach, we've arrived at Heatree safe and sound. 

We'll give a bigger update later but for now just wanted to let you all know we're here!! 

Evening update:

After arriving safely we spent a lovely time getting to know our way around the grounds of the centre this afternoon. Firstly we did a spot of orienteering, then this evening we enjoyed some free time playing games on the field and having a go at grass sledging!

The children have also got settled in their rooms and know their activity groups for tomorrow. We're hoping everyone gets a good night's sleep tonight so they're recharged ready for the adventure tomorrow:

Two groups will be going on the Moors for "Wilderness Adventure" and the other two groups will be doing "Raft Building" and "High Ropes".
