As it is the end of term we are setting homework now but it will not be collected in until the end of Week 1, so you have 2 weeks to complete it!
The pages for English this week are:
Please also carry on reading for pleasure and looking at your words for the Church Service in Week 1.
We would like the children to focus on the following pages of their CGP books this week:
Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling - pages 12 and 13 (phrases)
Comprehension - page 4-5 (Born on a Blue Day)
Whilst the books do have answers in the back we will go over the work with the children on Fridays to ensure that any questions can be addressed.
If your child does not have access to a set of CGP books please ask their teacher for the homework.
We are also attaching a copy of the words for the song that Year 6 will be singing at the Tie Ceremony. If the children are able to become familiar with it over the next few weeks that would be extremely helpful.
The children's new CGP books have arrived and been given out!
Children are encouraged to name (and look after) their own books and bring them in to school on Friday to go through the homework.
We would like the children to focus on the following pages of their books this week:

To support our learning in class, the English homework this week covers pronouns and the use of brackets and dashes.
Apologies that due to printer error we were unable to provide printed copies on Friday, these will be available on Monday if needed (please ask your teacher).
Our English homework this week is based on determiners, synonyms and antonyms.
The children have all been given a photocopied sheet of questions to complete this week. They are based on nouns and recognising formal and informal writing styles.
We are not setting any specific English homework this week to allow the children a little "settling in" time. However we encourage them to continue reading for pleasure (and to discuss what they have read) and to learn their spellings!
