As it is the end of term we are setting homework now but it will not be collected in until the end of Week 1, so you have 2 weeks to complete it!
The pages for Maths this week are:
Please also carry on practising those times tables on Times Tables Rockstars.
We would like the children to focus on the following pages of their CGP books this week:
Maths - pages 11, 15 and 16 (division, factors and problem solving)
Whilst the books do have answers in the back we will go over the work with the children on Fridays to ensure that any questions can be addressed.
If your child does not have access to a set of CGP books please ask their teacher for the homework.
We are also attaching a copy of the words for the song that Year 6 will be singing at the Tie Ceremony. If the children are able to become familiar with it over the next few weeks that would be extremely helpful
The children's new CGP books have arrived and been given out!
Children are encouraged to name (and look after) their own books and bring them in to school on Friday to go through the homework.
We would like the children to focus on the following pages of their books this week:
Maths - pages 10, 12 and 14 (written multiplication, mental maths and BODMAS).
Whilst the books do have answers in the back we will go over the work with the children on Fridays to ensure that any questions can be addressed.
BODMAS is a new topic that was introduced to the children today. We will be covering it a bit more next week in class too.
If your child does not have access to a set of CGP books please ask their teacher for the homework.
We would also continue to encourage the children to practise times table rockstars to build up their fluency with multiplication - weekly tournaments are set between the classes for those who like a little bit of competition!
To support our learning in class, the maths homework this week covers the topics of addition, subtraction and multiplication.
We are continuing to develop confidence in long multiplication so will be carrying out more work on this in class next week.
To support our learning in class, the maths homework this week covers the topics of roman numerals, addition and subtraction.
We apologise that due to printer error we were unable to provide any printed copies of homework on Friday. Please ask your teacher next week if a printed version is needed.
Following the completion of our unit about Place Value, this is the theme of this week's homework sheets.
The children have all been given a photocopied sheet of questions to complete this week. They are based on ordering numbers and rounding numbers so aim to consolidate the learning we have been doing in class.
It would also be helpful for the children to log in and practice their multiplication on TTRS regularly.
Whilst we have not set any specific maths homework this week (to allow the children some settling in time) we would encourage them all to log on to Timestables Rockstars to refamiliarise themselves with the site and to regularly practice their times tables (particularly any that they feel less secure with).
The children should be aware of their own logins, or can ask their teacher or check the front of their contact book.
